painting in the garden

We did some painting at playgroup on Thursday, and were lucky enough to be able to bring home some of the leftover paint. Beth thought being able to paint a couple of cardboard boxes outside in the garden was great fun, while I enjoyed trying to capture it on camera.

more of the park...

I love this last picture. Just makes me smile at how much joy Beth gets from swinging.

togetherness

It's lovely when you see your children doing something together happily. It is a rare treat to find them sharing a chair so nicely - without any squabbles - whilst Playschool is on.

dad's little helper

Andrew has been spending a lot of weekend spare time working on beautifying the front yard (and has become quite efficient at making garden borders, I might add!). Most of the time he doesn't like the kids floating around with all the power tools lying about, but on this day, it was nice to see a rather quiet Liam sitting with Dad and taking in what he was doing.

ekka wednesday

We didn't venture into the Brisbane Ekka this year, so on Ekka Wednesday we had a nice day at home. It turned out to be wash day for all the bikes and outdoor play vehicles... if only they were this keen on helping keep the inside of the house tidy!

what do you call this???

The result of yet another afternoon 'rest' period in Liam's room.

What a creative little guy!

Fun with the new camera...

Andrew graciously went out and bought me a new digital SLR camera this week. On Friday, I had some fun in the garden with Beth, playing with my new toy. These are some of the results.

Results of 'rest' time...

Liam often gets up to some interesting things during his post-lunch rest time. Behind the closed door, we can often hear all sorts of things going on, later to find out what was being created. Last weekend, he found every stool in the house, and every usable item in his room, and created his tallest tower yet. I wonder when he'll reach the ceiling???
