Another birthday
This year we are blessed to be able to celebrate our family birthdays with special birthday crowns that Liam has made us in advance. Being the first birthday of the year, Andy was the first lucky wearer of his birthday crown. He even took it to work to show off at his birthday morning tea. As you can see from the first picture, if the crown is a bit small, you can attach it to your hair with sticky tape, and each crown tells you how old you are!
Kindy Girl
It's official: our little girl is now a 'big kindy girl'! She had her first day on Monday, and what a trooper she was! So excited, no tears, she had a ball. Quite tired and cranky by Tuesday afternoon, but she can't wait to go again next week.
The night before the first day, as I was putting her to bed, I showed her her special new kindy drawer with her kindy outfits laid out inside. I told her that when she woke up in the morning, she could choose an outfit and get dressed. She nodded enthusiastically, and went to bed. I usually go in to check on the kids before I go to bed - tuck them in, etc - so when I went in to check on Beth at 9.30... she was dressed! Gorgeous girl.

Noosa weekend
Last weekend we took a sudden trip to Noosa. We drove up on Saturday, visited the Eumundi Markets, stayed Saturday night in an apartment we found on quickbeds.com, and spent Sunday at Noosa beach with some of my family who were up there on holidays at the same time. It was the first fairly spur-of-the moment trip with the kids, and we only took clothes, swimmers and some snacks and leftover pizza for one meal. We haven't travelled that lightly as a family for a LONG time!
1. After swimming and showering on Saturday afternoon, we took a walk along the Noosa River. Beth and Liam thought it was fun to wade in the water with their clothes on.

2. Running along the foreshore.
3. Having not taken much stuff up with us, we relied on a local restaurant for breakfast. We all enjoyed drawing and playing hangman on the table whilst we waited for our brekkie to arrive.
4. Sunday morning at the beach. The water was a bit rough, but we still had a swim/splash, resulting in huge appetites and two rather tired Little Ones who later slept all the way home. (And Mum too!)
