gardening

We have been doing some improvements to the front yard over the last few months, and Liam and Beth have enjoyed getting outside to 'help' too. On Saturday, Beth learnt how to weed, and also planted her own hibiscus flower bed.

another one of liam's creations...

This was a little 'vase of flowers' that Liam made in the garden and gave to me on Saturday. He used a toilet roll, hibiscus flower, other small flowers that grow through the fence from the neighbour, plus some shells. Neat.

Sunday 28/9 @ Sandgate/Shorncliffe

We took advantage of the beautiful afternoon yesterday to have some family time together down at the waterfront at Sandgate/ Shorncliffe. We parked near the old Sandgate Baptist Church, hauled Beth's bike and Liam's scooter out of the car, and took the Lovers' Walk around to Lower Moora Park at Shorncliffe.

Beth had a ball pedalling her bike, but Liam got a little tired of scootering after a short while (quite short, in fact!), so enjoyed standing on it while Andrew pushed him along.

We enjoyed a snack at the park, before a play at the playground, including a swing, of course
.

Love this shot that Andrew took on the walk back to the car. Quite photographic.

the star has risen...

Here's our little star (actually, he's a butterfly) up on stage at school for this week's junior school concert. The preps were so excited about coming to school at nighttime and performing for the parents, and they did a brilliant job. Liam was in his element, of course, and you hardly saw the smile leave his little face.

dressing up again...

Yesterday we had a dress-up day at playgroup. Beth donned her fairy/princess dress for the morning and looked gorgeous as usual!

stuff stuff stuff

It's amazing how much unnecessary stuff we accumulate over time. Andrew and I spent the day last Wednesday giving the house a much-needed spring clean and cull of junk. Combined with Andrew's parents - who had a fair bit of stuff from Andrew's Granny's house - and my Mum, we held a garage sale this morning to get rid of it all. Our garage has now gone from being chockers to half-full, and hopefully Lifeline will collect the rest this week. It was a successful morning, the house feels clearer, and we have a bit of extra $$$ to go out and splurge!

Our little rock-chick...

Here's our Beth, all dressed for church last Sunday, bouncing around the house with Liam's toy guitar. Don't know that she's a very hard-core rock-chick, though... bit too sweet, really.
