Goodbye six... Hello seven!

Here she is... Our latest family birthday saw our little lady move on from six to seven years old!

What's a birthday without the traditional pancakes for breakfast?

One of Beth's (many) birthday requests was to have her special friend, Siena, over for a play and also a trip to the new local Chipmunks indoor play centre at Everton Park. They had a fab time running about together and then playing little girly things at home before saying goodbye.

(For the record, I think Beth had a great day, despite the fact that she told me it was her 'third worst birthday'... Apparently the presents weren't up to scratch!! ;))

A choral experience...

This year Beth has been part of the junior school choir known as the Piccolos, consisting of students from years 2 and 3. Recently they participated in a small competition against other local schools... And they WON!

Here is a small excerpt from the recent school newsletter:

Queensland Youth Music Awards

Each May our College choirs and vocal ensembles participate in the Queensland Youth Music Awards.

The Piccolos, conducted and directed by Miss Yasmin Henry, assisted by Mrs Marina Hoehn and accompanied by Mrs Leanne Rogers, competed in the “Prep – Year 3” choral section. After an outstanding performance, The Piccolos were announced winners of this event. The Piccolos are now in possession of the prestigious Max Ham Perpetual Trophy for the next twelve months. Adjudicator Deb Todhunter said, “It was an entertaining and very polished performance. Beautiful singing, lovely phrasing, nice part work."
