The number NINE...

Our darling, gorgeous beautiful lad has made it to 9 years of age. Can it really be that long already? Is it really only one more year until he reaches that milestone of 'double figures'? Can he really be halfway to eighteen already???

Of course, the day began early with presents, followed by a test run of the new, extra heavy-duty scooter!

Soon after, we enjoyed a family breakfast of pancakes, which was nice to do since the birthday fell on a Saturday this year.

Yummmmmmm...

After lunch, we celebrated Liam's birthday with a few friends at our local mini-golf course.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the time putt-putting away, as well as doing a Mintie hunt and devouring party food!

Happy birthday, Liam! So proud of you, our darling little man!

Cross Country 2012

Another year, another race.

This year Liam did his first proper cross country race (as opposed to last year's fun run) in which he had to run 1.5km (erk!).

After warming up, he was psyched and ready at the starting line.

They took off fast, but at the halfway mark, Liam was ahead of most of the pack, although slightly behind the race leaders.

Approaching the finish line, he did himself proud (and me, of course) by giving his all and sprinting to the end. The result: 10th!!! (Out of around 40 boys). He was so pleased with himself for doing better than last year's fun run in which he had come 11th.

A pre-race shot with good mate Frazer. Aren't they handsome little fellows?!

Friends + beach = fun!

We recently had the pleasure of two special little friends of ours come to stay with us for the weekend whilst their Mum and Dad went away to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

We visited Bec's Mum at Bribie for the day, and made a quick visit to the beach.

There were some people there taking advantage of the windy conditions and flying some pretty cool kites!

We played beach cricket, and of course you can't visit the beach without a play in the sand...
