Andy's new toy...

At last... After many months of waiting, the new toy tool of all toys tools has been opened, assembled and played with!
All that's required now are some new home improvement projects so Andy can really test this bad boy out! Bring on the new veggie patch and deck railings!

To the Gallery...

GOMA is one of the best places to visit with my girl.  Whatever exhibition is on, they seem to do a great job of providing really cool interactive activities for kids (and sometimes adults too!)  And Beth, being the creative little chook that she is, just loves it! What better way to spend a hot summer's afternoon together?

One of the current free sections of the gallery includes Magic Land, where there are many tiny, magical-looking lands made out of sugar! So detailed and exquisite.  Beth was overwhelmed by it!
Can you SPOT Beth?

The Obliteration Room... When the exhibition opened, the entire series of rooms were completely white.  Each visitor receives a sheet of colourful spot stickers to stick on anything in the room, thus obliterating the white.  Fun!
We took a visit to the Matisse exhibition, despite not being all that interested in seeing it.  What we WERE interested in was the Drawing Room at the end of the exhibition in which was set up a massive array of statues, jars, vases, plants, bowls of fruit, etc.  It was set up so that people could sit and draw pictures of the objects on paper provided, or on one of the digital tablets! Very cool! There was even a violinist playing to create a very relaxed and creative atmosphere.  We spent ages in here, drawing on a tablet, and also sketching various things around us.  I think we both had a ball!
I love making memories with my girl!

Summer days... Caloundra

So it's summer and it's nice weather and it's a public holiday... What do you do?
Go to the beach, of course!

Look out, Liam!
Splash fight!  Look out Liam!
We drove up to enjoy King's Beach for the day on the second day of the year!  Unfortunately on our arrival we discovered there was a rather nasty and fresh wind blowing in strongly from the sea, making the beach conditions less than ideal.  So we tried the pool instead, hoping for a bit of shelter from the wind.
Ouch! Bright sun!

We spent the afternoon around at Moffat beach, trying to escape from the wind.  We ate fish and chips under a tree straight from the paper wrapping, shared a bottle of ginger beer, played in the children's playground, lay in the sun, swam in the lagoon/ creek, and ate ice creams.  What a relaxing, memorable day together.
