It' been a whole year since we last camped, and, boy, have we missed it! It was with much excitement that we prepared for a few days at Murphy's Creek (close to Toowoomba) with our camping buddies and wonderful friends, the Crosses, as well as a small group of other families from church.
We had the BEST site with this gorgeous view.
So nice to wake up to (or get up to if you haven't actually slept much!!).
Because of the outlook, we were able to let the kids clamber down the rocks to the creek bed for time spent paddling, hunting for yabbies, and making dams with the rocks. At sundown one day, Liam, Beth and new friend Kyle were off in the distance playing dams... With such pretty light, what better time to play with the point-and-shoot camera, specifically the 'miniature' effect?
This girl got a real case of camping-reader's fever and spent hours making her way through 'Sophie's Misfortunes'. She even sat by the campfire with her headlamp on reading in the dark!!!
There was plenty for the kids to have fun doing, from bike riding, playing in the creek bed, swimming, as well as the campsite's organised activities such as a 'thrill ride' in their old army truck.
Love it... Can't wait for our next adventure!
