Beth starts prep!

I can hardly believe that this gorgeous little girl was a baby just yesterday... maybe not, but it really seems like it. Off to prep in her big big uniform, me at home in the peace and quiet *sigh*, but with a small ache in my heart as I realise she's no longer my little baby. Sometimes I wish they could stay little forever.

My handsome boy... looking quite grown up, too, with his new haircut.

beware: tricksters about...

During a post-lunch nap, both Andrew and Grandad are unknowingly set upon by Liam and Beth. It was a huge joke to set out all the plastic toy insects onto Grandad and Andy's sleeping bodies and see what happened when they awoke!

Nan's backyard...

I don't think Liam or Beth ever imagined they would be able to go swimming in Nan's backyard! My Mum lives at Bribie on a canal, which is usually behind the back fence, rather murky-looking and quite low down. On our recent visit, we arrived at the peak of a king tide, allowing the kids to enjoy themselves in water in the backyard and just beyond the fence. We tried catching some of the little fish with Mum's little net, and surprisingly, we even managed to catch a small sandcrab who wandered up onto the ledge!

One cool room...

We are slowly getting the new house in order, unpacking box-by-box. We recently managed to re-organise Liam's new room, complete with new doona cover. Doesn't it look funky?! (I should also add how lovely it looks when it's neat and tidy like this. These school holidays, Liam has been really giving me a treat as he has managed to keep his room relatively tidy almost EVERY day! I hope this new Liam is a permanent fixture!)

It's come to this...

Sheety on the left: Beth's.
Age: about 2-3 years old
Status: faded, frayed edges, slowly getting smaller and smaller.

Sheety on the right: Liam's.
Age: about 5-6 years old
Status: beyond rag, basically now bits of torn fabric knotted together... is there any word to describe it?
